Job Summary / Role description:
- The Junior Treasury Accountant is responsible for performing basic treasury activities in compliance with the Group Treasury Policy, Fraud Prevention policy, and other treasury procedures.
- This role involves executing accounting postings related to bank movements, supporting senior colleagues in various tasks, and ensuring accurate financial records.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Execute accounting postings related to bank movements of commercial payments and collections.
- Support senior colleagues in the execution of accounting postings relating to quarterly accrued interests of bank accounts, deposits, and loans.
- Check the bank accounting confirmations of the transactions for further sharing with the Responsible.
- Perform monthly reconciliation of the intercompany and bank accounts.
- Enter bank transactions data at the Treasury ERP and, with respect to complex movements, seek previous approval from the Responsible.
- Daily check of the bank balances with the support of the Treasury ERP and remote banking systems.
- Prepare documents related to bank fund transfers, payments, and receipts for further sharing with the Responsible.
- Prepare documents related to the opening and closing of bank accounts.
- Check and submit duly authorized payment instructions to the banks.
- Perform treasury activities in compliance with the Group Treasury Policy, Fraud Prevention policy, and other treasury procedures.
- Support the operations of intercompany loans and intercompany financial agreements.
- Support Internal Audit activities relating to treasury tasks with prior sharing with the Responsible.
Knowledge & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- A professional qualification would be an added advantage
Experience:
- 2 – 5 years of experience in accounting
- Prior experience in financial institution or finance related role is advantageous
- Previous experience in big 4 is preferable.
- Previous experience in Construction is preferable.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting standards, financial reporting & tax regulations.
- Good proficiency in Italian language is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of ERP systems, particularly SAP, is preferable
