Job Title: Legal Officer

Key Duties / Responsibilities:
- Provides advisory services to the company on a variety of issues regarding legal risk, compliance corporate governance, data protection, and company secretariat.
- Provide support for developing internal audit and corporate compliance policies and procedures.
- Evaluate and manage pre-litigation disputes by developing and executing litigation strategies, managing discovery obligations, managing external counsel, and determining proper case disposition.
- Support the development and execution of litigation strategy, manage discovery obligations, manage outside counsel, determine proper case disposition, and monitor litigation budgets expenses.
- Maintaining proper corporate interactions with the relevant local, state and federal governmental bodies, legislatures and the community at large.
- Participate in significant internal investigations.
- Ensure information flow to internal and external stakeholders are reliable, correct and approved in line with regulatory requirements and business sustainability at all times.
- Prepares reports on the operation and progress of compliance, and risk management efforts on a regular basis.
- Tracks relevant legislation and regulations that may affect the Company’s business and advises the business in relation thereto.
- Reviews, updates, and develops Company data privacy and security policies and procedures, working closely with the Chief Information Security Officer, and all other appropriate stakeholders, including Finance and commercial business leads.
- Cooperate with Data Protection Compliance Organization (DPCO) and act as a contact point for DPCO on issues relating to data processing.
Job Specifications:
- Education Qualification: Minimum of Bachelor of Laws (LL. B) from reputable Academic Institution
- Professional Qualification: Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria (BL)
- Experience (Dimension & No of years): Must have at least 4-8 years at the bar,

- Excellent writing and presentation skills.
- Time management and task prioritization skills.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with the appropriate discretion.
- Sufficient knowledge of information technology and data management systems is required.
