Responsibilities & Duties:
  • Fabricate, assemble, and repair sheet metal parts and components for aircraft.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and engineering drawings.
  • Use hand and power tools to shape and manipulate sheet metal materials.
  • Inspect and identify structural damage, wear, and corrosion in aircraft.
  • Perform precision measurements and calculations to ensure accurate fit and alignment.
  • Install rivets, bolts, and other fasteners to secure sheet metal parts.
  • Apply protective coatings and sealants to prevent corrosion and enhance durability.
  • Coordinate with other maintenance personnel and departments to complete repair work.
  • Ensure compliance with Statutory regulations and safety standards.
  • Conduct routine maintenance inspections to detect and resolve potential issues.
  • Document repair and maintenance activities accurately and thoroughly.
  • Provide expertise and guidance to junior mechanics and apprentices.

 

Qualifications & Skills:
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in aircraft sheet metal work.
  • Experience working in an aviation maintenance environment.
  • Certification from a recognized aviation maintenance school or program.
  • Knowledge of NCAA regulations and safety standards.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Proficiency with CAD software and other technical design tools.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Previous experience with specific aircraft types or models.
  • Completion of a certified aircraft sheet metal training program.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and precision in workmanship.
  • Familiarity with hand and power tools used in sheet metal fabrication.
  • Commitment to adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
