Responsibilities & Duties:
- Fabricate, assemble, and repair sheet metal parts and components for aircraft.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and engineering drawings.
- Use hand and power tools to shape and manipulate sheet metal materials.
- Inspect and identify structural damage, wear, and corrosion in aircraft.
- Perform precision measurements and calculations to ensure accurate fit and alignment.
- Install rivets, bolts, and other fasteners to secure sheet metal parts.
- Apply protective coatings and sealants to prevent corrosion and enhance durability.
- Coordinate with other maintenance personnel and departments to complete repair work.
- Ensure compliance with Statutory regulations and safety standards.
- Conduct routine maintenance inspections to detect and resolve potential issues.
- Document repair and maintenance activities accurately and thoroughly.
- Provide expertise and guidance to junior mechanics and apprentices.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in aircraft sheet metal work.
- Experience working in an aviation maintenance environment.
- Certification from a recognized aviation maintenance school or program.
- Knowledge of NCAA regulations and safety standards.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Proficiency with CAD software and other technical design tools.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Previous experience with specific aircraft types or models.
- Completion of a certified aircraft sheet metal training program.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and precision in workmanship.
- Familiarity with hand and power tools used in sheet metal fabrication.
- Commitment to adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
