We are recruiting to fill the following positions below:
  1. Head of Modern Trade
  2. Head of Open Trade
  3. Marketing Specialist

1. Head of Modern Trade

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy to grow sales and market share in the Modern Trade channel.
  • Manage and strengthen relationships with key modern trade partners (e.g., Shoprite, Spar, Hubmart, Justrite, Park’n Shop, etc.).
  • Negotiate contracts, listing fees, promotional terms, and shelf space allocations.
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance, category trends, and competitor activity within modern trade outlets.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Modern Trade Executives and Account Managers.
  • Ensure consistent in-store execution, including merchandising, promotions, and planogram compliance.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to design and implement effective trade marketing campaigns.
  • Work closely with Supply Chain and Logistics to ensure zero stockouts and timely deliveries.
  • Prepare regular reports on Modern Trade performance, including revenue, margins, and ROI on promotions.
  • Identify new modern trade opportunities and expand presence into emerging retail chains.

Requirements

  • Experience in FMCG, beverages, home appliances, or consumer electronics.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field. MBA is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 8–10 years of sales and distribution experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within Modern Trade.
  • Proven track record of managing key accounts with major retail chains in Nigeria.
  • Strong understanding of modern retail operations, category management, and trade marketing.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Data-driven with strong analytical and reporting abilities.
  • Must be based in Lagos or willing to relocate.

2. Head of Open Trade

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a strategic vision for the Open Trade channel to drive revenue growth and market share.
  • Oversee the performance of distributors, wholesalers, and retailers within the open trade network.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key distributors, trade partners, and channel stakeholders.
  • Design and implement trade marketing initiatives to boost brand visibility and product uptake.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to inform business decisions.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of Trade Managers, Sales Supervisors, and Field Executives.
  • Ensure efficient product availability, shelf presence, and in-store execution across all open trade outlets.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance teams to align strategies and improve profitability.
  • Analyze sales data and KPIs to track performance and identify growth opportunities.
  • Drive operational efficiency in distribution, reduce stockouts, and minimize wastage or losses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. MBA is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 8–10 years of progressive experience in sales and distribution, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the Open Trade channel.
  • Proven track record of managing large distributor networks and achieving sales targets.
  • Strong understanding of the Nigerian retail landscape, especially in open markets and traditional trade.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Data-driven mindset with experience in sales reporting and performance analysis.
  • Must be based in Lagos or willing to relocate.

3. Marketing Specialist

Role Overview

  • We are seeking four dynamic and results-driven Marketing Specialists to spearhead sell-out growth across assigned regions in Lagos.
  • Each Territory Manager will function as the “mini-CEO” of their territory—driving retail performance, developing B2B sales opportunities, executing marketing activations, and ensuring strong dealer relationships.

Key Responsibilities
Retail Sales & Merchandising:

  • Drive sell-out in assigned territory by ensuring effective merchandising, POS deployment, and inventory management in stores.
  • Organize in-store promotions, weekend activations, and product demonstrations.
  • Maintain strong dealer and store manager relationships to encourage repeat orders.

B2B & Institutional Sales:

  • Identify and engage corporate clients, schools, and institutions for bulk purchases.
  • Generate a minimum of 5 qualified B2B leads per month with a 60–70% closure rate.

Territory Management:

  • Cover all assigned geographic locations effectively with a minimum of 15 store visits weekly.
  • Submit accurate weekly sales and activity reports via CRM and WhatsApp updates.

Marketing & Activation:

  • Coordinate local marketing campaigns, in-store activations, and community engagement programs to boost brand visibility.
  • Execute “Sellout Weeks” and roadshow promotions in collaboration with marketing teams.

Channel Development & Customer Acquisition:

  • Identify, onboard, and nurture new retail and B2B partners to expand the sales network.
  • Follow up on leads and convert prospects into paying customers.

Requirements

  • Candidates should possess relevant qualifications.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in territory sales, retail management, or B2B sales within FMCG, electronics, or similar industries.
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong negotiation, relationship management, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Residency in or familiarity with the assigned Lagos territory is an advantage.
