The Nigerian Electricity Supply Corporation (Nigeria) Limited (NESCO) is incorporated under the Companies Act of the Laws of Nigeria. Its core business is to generate, distribute, supply and retail electric power in Plateau State and adjacent States. We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Monitoring Officer

Location: Jos, Plateau

Employment Type: Full-time


Purpose of the Job 

  • Monitoring all revenue collection activities within the company and ensuring effective strategies and measures are in place to help reduce collection loss.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The Monitoring Officer shall therefore be responsible, but not limited, for the following:

  • Closely monitor the planning and execution of collection activities.
  • Develop or suggest effective reporting tools that help monitor collection activities.
  • Perform periodic trend analysis for revenues.
  • Monitor the collection activities of Maximum Demand, Prime and non-Maximum Demand Customers.
  • Monitor payment plans of both post and pre-paid debtors.
  • Ensure all pre-billing activities and billing procedures are effective at reducing collection losses.
  • Assist with developing strategies that help detect energy theft.
  • Prepare periodic reports for the attention of the Revenue Monitoring and Mobilization Assurance Supervisor.
  • Carry out any other duties as requested by the Revenue Monitoring and Mobilization Assurance Supervisor.

Minimum Educational & Professional Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge

  • First Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration Accountancy, Banking & Finance or a related field.
  • Basic computer proficiency (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in the Electricity Supply Industry.
  • Full Membership of a Relevant Professional Body.

Attributes and Competencies:

  • Knowledge of the power industry and relevant regulations (e.g., NERC).
  • Strong financial and business acumen.
  • Data analysis and report writing skills.
  • Keen attention to detail.
