Job Description

  • Our Partner company is looking for an Operations Accountant. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations.
  • Functions will include verification and reconciliation of expenses, product costing and managing stock, preparing reports, and ensuring accurate data entry into our ERP system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monthly Expense Verification & Cashbook Reports: Verify and check monthly expenses against the company’s records and prepare the monthly cashbook report for management review.
  • Daily Reconciliations: Perform daily reconciliations of Sales transactions, bank deposits, and cash deposits to ensure accurate financial records.
  • Prepare monthly stock valuation reports and perform stock reconciliation to ensure consistency between physical stock levels and system records.
  • Ensure all stock, as well as transfers to retail stores, are accurately posted in the ERP.
  • Generate monthly Sales reports, including profit reports and customer listings, to provide insight into performance and sales data.
  • Supplier Payment Sheet Management: Update the suppliers’ payment sheet, ensuring it is accurate and up to date, and send it to the Accounts department for further processing.
  • Costing of Local Product Purchases: Calculate and update the cost of locally purchased products, ensuring accurate data is available for financial reporting.
  • Product Receipt Verification: Verify that all products have been received as reported, and ensure they are properly allocated in the system.
  • Cost of Sales Generation: Calculate and generate monthly Cost of Sales (COS) from the accounting system, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of data.
  • Tax Reconciliation: Reconcile taxes on, ensuring the accuracy of tax reporting.
  • Monthly Sales & production Reconciliation: Reconcile monthly sales data and production figures to ensure the integrity of financial records and reporting.

Qualifications & Requirements
Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education: BSc in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional accounting certification will be an added advantage.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in accounting or operations finance roles
  • Experience with accounting systems and ERP  software (Zoho, QuickBooks, SAP, etc.) is highly desirable.
  • Solid understanding of stock management processes.

Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

  • High level of integrity and reliability in managing financial data and sensitive information.

Remuneration Range
N350,000 – N500,000 / Month + other benefits.
