Job Summary
- We are seeking passionate and self-driven individuals to join our team as Graduate Trainees in the Operations Unit of the DRI Department.
- This role is ideal for recent graduates looking to build a solid foundation in metallurgical operations within a dynamic production environment.
- Successful candidates will undergo structured on-the-job training in DRI process operations and production techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in monitoring and controlling operations of the DRI plant under supervision.
- Learn and adhere to safety, health, and environmental standards during all operations.
- Support DRI shift operators and engineers with routine tasks, equipment checks, and process control.
- Participate in preventive maintenance activities as guided by the shift supervisor.
- Analyze production data, report anomalies, and suggest process improvements.
- Maintain accurate operational logs and assist in preparing shift reports.
- Observe and understand plant KPIs including temperature, pressure, and gas flow parameters.
- Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Exhibit eagerness to learn and apply technical knowledge in real-time plant operations.

Required Qualifications & Experience
- Education: HND or B.Eng. in Metallurgical & Materials Engineering (or a related discipline).
- Experience: 0–2 years post-NYSC experience (industrial training or internship in a steel/DIR plant is an added advantage).
- Location: Must be willing to work in Kaduna.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
- High level of discipline, integrity, and adaptability.
- Willingness to work in shifts and in a high-temperature industrial environment.
