Job Description:
  • Lagos Business School (LBS) invites applications for the role of Operations Lead (Research Fellow/Project Manager) for its LBS AI Collective, which serves as a key implementing partner of the Nigeria AI Collective.
  • This position offers a unique opportunity to support Nigeria’s national AI vision through structured research, executive education, and cross-sectoral stakeholder engagement.
  • The successful candidate will provide operational leadership for Lagos Business School’s contributions to the AI Collective, supporting curriculum development, national-level research, policy engagement, and capacity-building initiatives.
  • This is a two-year fixed-term role.

Duties

  • The Operations Lead will oversee the implementation of project activities and ensure that deliverables are completed within the agreed timelines.
  • The candidate will be responsible for coordinating daily project operations, including the organization of meetings, workshops, executive education programmes, and stakeholder events.
  • This includes tracking project milestones and managing reports and documentation for funders and oversight bodies.
  • In the area of research and curriculum development, the candidate will support the identification of AI education gaps through structured assessments such as surveys and focus groups, contribute to the development of tailored AI curricula for different audiences, and facilitate national-level AI research and policy dialogues.
  • The Operations Lead will also support the delivery of AI-focused executive education programmes targeting public and private sector leaders, coordinate partnerships with institutions, and contribute to the planning and execution of national AI conferences and workshops.
  • The role will also include managing grant administration under the National AI Research Scheme (NAIRS), including proposal review, funding disbursement, and project monitoring.
  • The successful candidate will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, maintain proper project communication and documentation, and support dissemination of knowledge products, including reports and publications.

Qualifications and Experience

  • The ideal candidate must hold a postgraduate Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Public Policy, or a related discipline. A minimum of three to five years of relevant experience in research, curriculum development, executive education, or AI-related program delivery is required.
  • The candidate must demonstrate strong project management experience, including a successful track record of managing complex multi-stakeholder initiatives. Familiarity with Nigeria’s policy and technology ecosystem is essential.
  • The candidate must be capable of collaborating across academia, government, and industry stakeholders, and should have experience administering national-level surveys or managing research grants.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills are expected.
