Role Overview

We are hiring a Partnerships Associate to support lead generation, prospect research, and early-stage partner engagement for our client and its flagship initiatives:
  • A Global Conference
  • A Product Accelerator Program
This is an ideal role for a proactive and analytical early-career professional who is eager to grow in partnerships and business development within Africa’s innovation space. You will work closely with the Executive Director and Partnership Manager to maintain a strong pipeline of potential partners, funders, and sponsors.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Sourcing & Pipeline Management
  • Research and identify high-potential corporate, donor, and ecosystem stakeholders aligned with Innovate Africa’s strategic goals.
  • Maintain a comprehensive prospect database segmented by industry, geography, funding capacity, and partnership interest.
  • Develop detailed profiles and briefing documents for each qualified lead to support outreach by senior team members.
  • Track and manage early-stage pipeline activity using the company CRM (e.g., HubSpot or Salesforce).
  • Prepare weekly prospecting dashboards and reports on new leads sourced, qualified, and engaged.
Outreach & Engagement Support
  • Draft and send initial outreach messages to cold and warm leads via email, LinkedIn, and other channels.
  • Schedule introductory calls and prepare agendas for partnership meetings.
  • Take detailed notes during meetings and follow up with thank-you messages or action items.
  • Assist in the development and customization of pitch decks and sponsorship proposals.
Data & Reporting
  • Ensure that all partner and prospect data is consistently updated in the CRM.
  • Assist in preparing fundraising reports and pipeline updates for weekly meetings.
  • Track performance metrics such as response rates, meeting conversions, and lead quality.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience in a business development, sales, partnerships, or research role (internships or contract roles acceptable)
  • Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to map stakeholders and assess alignment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Comfortable using CRMs, spreadsheets, and productivity tools (Google, Zoho)
  • Familiarity with Africa’s innovation, donor, or startup ecosystem is an advantage
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive
  • Passionate about innovation, entrepreneurship, and African development
