Key Responsibilities

  • Design and conduct experiments to study drug effects on biological systems.
  • Analyze pharmacokinetics (absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion) and pharmacodynamics (mechanism of action).
  • Collaborate with chemists, toxicologists, and clinicians to develop and test new drugs.
  • Prepare detailed reports and publish findings in scientific journals.
  • Ensure compliance with ethical standards and regulatory guidelines.
  • Use laboratory equipment and software for data analysis and modeling.
  • Monitor side effects, interactions, and therapeutic efficacy of compounds.

Areas of Specialization:

  • Clinical Pharmacology: Focus on drug effects in humans.
  • Neuropharmacology: Study drugs affecting the nervous system.
  • Toxicology: Assess safety and adverse effects.
  • Pharmacogenomics: Explore genetic influences on drug response.
