Job Summary:
- The Procurement Lead will be responsible for managing and overseeing all procurement activities for the crude and gas pipeline project.
- This role involves strategic sourcing, supplier management, contract negotiations, and ensuring procurement operations align with project timelines, budget constraints, and quality standards.
- The Procurement Lead will collaborate with engineering, construction, and project management teams to optimize supply chain efficiencies and mitigate risks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and recommend for approval the Contractor’s procurement strategies tailored to the pipeline project, ensuring cost efficiency and regulatory compliance.
- Manage the procurement lifecycle, including sourcing, bidding, evaluation, contract negotiation, and supplier performance monitoring.
- Qualify potential suppliers, ensuring adherence to project specifications and industry standards.
- Collaborate with EPC Contractor’s engineering and project management teams to define material and equipment requirements.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with local and international regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
- Supervise contract negotiations, ensuring favorable terms and risk mitigation for the company.
- Oversee vendor management, assessing supplier performance, and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Coordinate logistics, transportation, and warehousing to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Monitor procurement budgets, cost control measures, and report procurement KPIs to stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
- Mitigate procurement risks through thorough market analysis, supplier due diligence, and contingency planning.
- Utilize procurement software and ERP systems for tracking and managing procurement activities.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 12+ years of experience in procurement within the oil & gas, energy, or pipeline construction sectors.
- Proven experience in procurement and contract management for large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supply chain management, and contract negotiations.
- Familiarity with industry standards, local/international procurement regulations, and HSE requirements.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset.
Preferred Certifications:
- Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)
- Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM)
- Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) certification
Work Environment & Conditions:
- Office-based with periodic site visits as required.
- Travel may be required to supplier locations, project sites, and client meetings.
- May involve working in challenging environments, including remote locations and offshore facilities.
