About Nomba:
Nomba, launched in 2017 as “Kudi.ai”, is a chatbot that responds to financial requests on social apps. Nomba has since evolved to empower independent businesses to act as neighborhood banks offering basic financial services such as cash withdrawal, transfer and bill payments to all Nigerians, especially those in underserved communities. Today we process more than $500m in payments monthly.
Job Summary:
- We are looking for a Product Designer with a knack for finding intuitive solutions that let customers use our products easily.
- The perfect candidate will be proficient throughout the design process, but always keeping the customer’s needs in mind.
- You will collaborate with other designers and cross-functional team members, relying heavily on both qualitative and quantitative data to make well-informed decisions.
Responsibilities:
- By collaborating with cross-functional teams and customers, you will transform your insights into delightful products in a creative environment that demands exceptional leadership skills and the ability to execute a creative vision.
- Define design requirements based on insights from internal teams and user research.
- Identify potential product improvements.
- Analyse how a new product aligns with market demands and consumer preferences.
- Stay informed about current industry trends and market conditions.
- Collaborate with other design team members to ensure consistent and accurate communication.
- Adapt and refine existing designs to meet evolving customer preferences.
- Work closely with product engineers to propose improvements for products and processes.
- Present product design concepts to cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in all phases of the design process including user research, copywriting, wireframing, prototyping, user Interface design, user experience design, interaction design, and usability testing
- A well-developed design portfolio showcasing a clear understanding of user problems and goals.
- Proficiency in Figma design tool
- An intuitive eye for customer needs beyond the obvious
- Keen eye for detail and dedication to excellence
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional team members
- Ability to gather, interpret, and apply both qualitative and quantitative feedback
- Ability to effectively communicate and persuade around design concepts
- Passion for design; not satisfied with the status quo and always thinking of ways to improve
- Creative problem-solving capabilities that resonate with various audiences.
- Willingness to provide support to product engineers when needed.
