Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Product Officer to drive product origination, onboarding, and market development, with a focus on Commercial Paper (CP) issuance and listings. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of debt capital markets and proven experience in product origination, structuring, or distribution within the financial services sector.


Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and engage corporate issuers and financial institutions eligible for Commercial Paper issuance and onboard them for listing on NGX.

  • Promote the benefits of listing Commercial Papers on NGX as a superior alternative to private placements, highlighting visibility, liquidity, and regulatory transparency.

  • Work with Product Management teams to provide market intelligence for product and service development.

  • Collaborate with Trading & Product teams to ensure readiness for CP trading, while addressing issuer and investor feedback to improve product attractiveness.

  • Market and sell NGX’s products and services to prospective and existing listed companies, enhancing the overall listing value proposition.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • HND / B.Sc. in Business Administration, Finance, Accountancy, Banking, or related disciplines.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ cognate, client-facing experience in Capital Markets, Investment Banking, Asset Management, Financial Services, Manufacturing, Commerce, Agriculture, Transport, Telecoms, or Oil & Gas.

  • Strong understanding of debt capital markets, particularly short-term instruments such as Commercial Paper.

  • Experience in origination, structuring, or distribution of fixed-income products (e.g., bonds, commercial papers).

  • MBA, professional certifications (e.g., CFA, ICAN, CIS) or postgraduate qualifications will be an added advantage.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) at an intermediate level or higher.

  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
