About the Role:
  • We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Project Manager to lead and execute a high-impact project focused on job creation and youth empowerment.
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the successful implementation of the project within a 18-month timeline, ensuring the delivery of key objectives, including securing 600 job placements for youth and equipping 1,000 participants with entrepreneurial and leadership skills.
  • This role requires strong leadership, project management expertise, and stakeholder engagement skills to drive impact and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Deliverables:

  • Project Execution & Deliverables: Design and implement project activities to achieve outlined goals, ensuring adherence to timelines and objectives.
  • Project Planning & Oversight: Develop comprehensive project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closing plans aligned with project objectives.
  • Budget Management: Prepare, manage, and oversee project budgets, ensuring transparency, accountability, and optimal utilization of funds and assets.
  • Monitoring & Reporting: Prepare and present periodic progress reports to funders, stakeholders, and partners, demonstrating project impact and milestones achieved.
  • Stakeholder & Relationship Management: Cultivate and manage relationships with internal project teams, funding bodies, and key stakeholders, including CFYE.
  • Team Leadership & Supervision: Oversee the project team, providing direction, supervision, and performance management to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Strategic Guidance: Provide thought leadership and strategic direction in developing and executing the project to maximize impact and sustainability.
  • Workplan & Milestone Tracking: Develop and maintain a detailed work plan outlining quarterly deliverables and project milestones.
  • Training & Job Placement: Facilitate the training of 1,000 participants and secure 600 job placements for youth.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Development Studies, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in project management, preferably in workforce development, youth empowerment, or entrepreneurship programs.
  • Proven ability to design, execute, and oversee large-scale projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong financial management skills with experience in budgeting and financial reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement, team leadership, and conflict resolution.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software.

Preferred Skills & Competencies:

  • Certification in Project Management (PMP, PRINCE2) is an added advantage.
  • Experience working with donor-funded projects and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to navigate complex challenges with a problem-solving mindset.
  • Passion for youth empowerment and sustainable job creation.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills for data-driven decision-making.
  • Expertise in risk management and mitigation strategies to anticipate and resolve potential project hurdles.
  • Ability to manage multiple project components while ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Strong negotiation and persuasion skills to engage stakeholders and secure necessary resources.
  • Adaptability and resilience in handling project uncertainties and changing conditions.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects within scope, timeline, and budget while achieving intended impact.
