About the Role
We are seeking motivated and results-driven professionals to join our Retail SME Banking team across Abuja, Sokoto, and Jigawa.
As a Retail SME Officer, you will play a pivotal role in driving customer acquisition, portfolio growth, and relationship management. You will be responsible for building strong SME partnerships, delivering innovative financial solutions, and contributing to Access Bank’s vision of being the most respected African bank.
Specific Responsibilities for the Role

Source, acquire, and manage SME and retail business customers in assigned markets.

Drive growth in loan portfolios, deposits, and revenue-generating products.

Conduct credit analysis, prepare loan proposals, and ensure portfolio quality.

Cross-sell a wide range of retail SME products, including lending, deposits, payments, and trade finance.

Build and maintain long-term customer relationships to ensure loyalty and retention.

Support branch performance through business development initiatives and market engagement.

Ensure strict compliance with regulatory requirements and risk management policies.

Qualifications
-
First Degree in any Business-related discipline (Master’s/professional qualification is an advantage).

Minimum of 5–7 years’ relevant experience in SME or retail banking, credit, or financial services marketing.

Strong understanding of SME markets in Abuja, Sokoto, or Jigawa.

Proven track record in sales, relationship management, and portfolio growth.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and credit analysis skills.
