Job Summary:
- The Risk Manager will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating potential risks that may impact the company’s financial stability, operations, and reputation.
- This role involves developing risk management policies, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements to safeguard the company’s assets and interests.
Key Responsibilities
Risk Identification & Assessment:
- Develop and implement a robust risk management framework.
- Conduct risk assessments across departments to identify potential threats to business continuity.
- Analyze financial, operational, legal, and strategic risks affecting the company.
Risk Mitigation & Control:
- Design and implement risk mitigation strategies to reduce business exposure.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with risk policies.
- Monitor and assess the effectiveness of risk controls and update strategies accordingly.
Regulatory Compliance & Governance:
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Liaise with regulatory agencies, auditors, and other external bodies regarding risk matters.
- Stay updated with industry trends and legislative changes that may impact the business.
Reporting & Documentation:
- Prepare risk reports for senior management and board members.
- Maintain comprehensive records of risk incidents, assessments, and mitigation actions.
- Provide recommendations for improving risk management policies and procedures.
Crisis Management & Business Continuity Planning:
- Develop and oversee business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
- Conduct risk awareness training for employees to foster a risk-conscious culture.
- Lead incident response efforts during crises to minimize business disruptions.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, Economics, or a related field.
- Professional certification such as CRISC, CRM, FRM, CFA, or ACCA is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in risk management, preferably in a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
- Excellent knowledge of risk assessment tools, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance.
- Ability to communicate effectively with senior management and external stakeholders.
