Howbury School is a Creche, Nursery and Primary School with campuses in Maryland, Lagos and Ota, Ogun State. The Schools are located in very serene environment. We are a family oriented school – something that will become apparent when you visit. We cater for children from ages 3 months to 11 years.

Job Title: School Nurse

Location: Mende – Maryland, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-Time

 

Job Description

  • At Howbury School, we are committed to creating a safe and healthy environment for our students. We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated School Nurse to join our team.
  • As a vital part of our school community, you will play a key role in promoting the health and well-being of our students and staff.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to students, including first aid, medication administration, and management of chronic health conditions.
  • Conduct health screenings and assessments, and maintain accurate health records for all students.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and healthcare providers to support students with specific health needs.
  • Develop and implement health care plans for students with special needs.
  • Educate students and staff on health-related topics, including hygiene, nutrition, and disease prevention.
  • Monitor and respond to health emergencies, ensuring swift and appropriate care.
  • Promote a healthy school environment by identifying and addressing potential health hazards.
  • Serve as a resource for students, staff, and parents on health-related issues.

 

Qualifications

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Lagos State
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (preferred).
  • Prior experience in pediatric, public health, or school nursing (preferred).
  • Strong clinical skills, with the ability to handle emergencies calmly and efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on empathy and understanding.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to school health services.
