Job Summary

  • The Senior Accounts Officer will oversee day-to-day financial operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain strong internal controls, and support management in strategic financial decision-making.
  • The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, analytical, and experienced in managing accounting processes within a corporate or healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and reports.
  • Handle accounts payable and receivable functions, including reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Monitor cash flow and ensure effective management of funds.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and tax regulations.
  • Reconcile bank statements and maintain proper documentation for audits.
  • Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory bodies.
  • Supervise junior accounting staff and support their development.
  • Provide management with timely financial insights and recommendations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent) is required or in the final stages.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ progressive experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in healthcare, diagnostics, or a similar industry.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax laws.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or Tally) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Solid knowledge of bank reconciliations, journal entries, and payroll accounting.
  • Experience preparing and interpreting management accounts and budgets.
