Job Summary

  • We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to join our design and engineering team.
  • The successful candidate will lead the structural analysis and design of projects of varying sizes and complexities, ensuring that all engineering works meet regulatory, safety, and performance standards.
  • The role requires both technical depth and project management experience, as the Senior Engineer will oversee concept development, detailed design, and coordination through to project execution, while mentoring junior engineers and ensuring quality delivery within time and budget.

Key Responsibilities

Structural Analysis & Design:

  • Perform advanced structural analysis using industry software such as ProtaStructure, Autodesk Robot, and other relevant tools.
  • Design structural systems in reinforced concrete, steel, timber, and composite materials.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, performance, and durability standards.

Project Management:

  • Lead and manage structural engineering aspects of multiple projects from concept to completion.
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with architects, MEP engineers, contractors, and clients.
  • Develop project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.

Technical Oversight & Supervision:

  • Review and approve structural drawings, designs, and calculations prepared by team members.
  • Conduct peer reviews and ensure adherence to Eurocode, BS, and other relevant standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff.

Construction Support & Quality Control:

  • Conduct site inspections to verify compliance with approved designs.
  • Resolve on-site structural issues and provide prompt engineering solutions.
  • Monitor and enforce quality assurance and control standards.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Prepare technical reports, design basis documents, and project progress reports.
  • Maintain clear and accurate documentation of design revisions and approvals.

Client & Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Participate in client and coordination meetings, presenting structural concepts and solutions.
  • Provide expert advice on feasibility, risk, and cost implications of structural design decisions.

Regulatory & Safety Compliance:

  • Ensure all engineering and construction works comply with local building codes, safety, and environmental regulations.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

  • Keep abreast of new materials, technologies, and software in structural engineering.
  • Propose sustainable, cost-efficient, and innovative design approaches.

Requirements

  • B.Eng. / B.Sc in Civil Engineering
  • MNSE, MNISTRUCTE; COREN registration is mandatory.
  • Minimum of 5 years post-graduation experience in a civil/structural design office.
  • Proficiency in ProtaStructure, Autodesk Robot, and other structural design software.
  • Strong knowledge of Eurocodes, BS codes, and modern design practices.
  • Competence in design documentation, calculation reports, and project specifications.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, analytical thinking, and teamwork abilities.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work under minimal supervision.

Salary
N400,000 – N500,000 / month.
